Week 5

Hello, Summer Enrichment Families,

Just a few updates and reminders for Week #5!

Please note that it is important to let your student’s teachers know about scheduled absences. If they need to miss some time due to illness or emergency, this is no problem! But if they will be absent for an extended period of time for camp, vacation, etc., having advance notice helps our staff prepare activities accordingly.

Please continue to be respectful of our start/end time for each session. Many of the staff have other responsibilities, including second jobs, and can only be here during our scheduled times. This means that it is important that you are mindful of drop-off and pick-up times, and adhere to them as closely as possible. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Our Penny Drive (competition between Elementary and Mid-High) is ending this week! The last day for collection will be Wednesday, 7/24. We will perform our final count and announce the winning team on Thursday. Whoever wins will get to pick costumes from the costume room for staff to wear on Monday, 7/29!
All proceeds go directly to keeping our program thriving!

Please encourage your student to continue working on lines (even though they should be memorized now) and to bring their scripts every day!

Our annual Tricky Tray fundraiser will take place on performance nights. We are still in need of prizes! If you are able, please begin bringing items in this week. We collect various donated items between $5 and $10 from families to raffle at the end of each performance night.

Themed Thursday 7/25: Elementary theme is Dapper Day. Mid-High theme is College Pride & Hat Day.

We have chosen the program dates for next year! This “save the date” flyer is attached to this post.

If you would like to volunteer in any way, please let us know! We would love and appreciate any help you are able to provide, and your dedication contributes to the longevity of our program!

Our performances are coming up fast! Elementary takes place on Thursday, August 1st, and Mid-High is Friday, August 2nd. Please have your students bring in their costumes as soon as possible for staff to approve.
Elementary Dress Rehearsal is during their normal program hours, 10:00-12:00, on the morning of Thursday, August 1st. The performance will be later that day at 7PM in the SLHS auditorium.
Mid-High Dress Rehearsal is the morning of August 2nd, from 9:30AM-1:00PM. Lunch must be packed. Students will not be allowed to leave campus or order in for lunch that day, as it will be a “working” lunch. The performance will be later that day at 7PM in the SLHS auditorium.
Performance admission is free! Please bring your family and friends to join the fun!

Important Dates

Week 5: Teachers will have final costume instructions for students.
Wednesday, July 24th: Last day for Penny Drive collection. Winners will be announced Thursday, 7/26. The winning team will get their prize on Monday, 7/29!
Thursday, July 25th: Themed Thursday Spirit Day! Elementary theme is Dapper Day. Mid-High theme is College Pride & Hat Day.
Thursday, August 1st - Elementary Performance: No program for Middle School. Elementary dress rehearsal will take place 10:00AM-12:00PM, and our final performance will be held at 7:00PM. Please note that students will be asked to arrive early in order to prepare for their shows. This typically means between 6:30-6:45. We will have a better idea of the exact time early next week. Please note: there is no admission fee for the shows! Coming to watch is completely free. Please invite friends and family to join the fun!
Friday, August 2nd - Mid-High Performance: Mid-High dress rehearsal will be held from 9:30AM-1:00PM. Students are required to pack their own lunch for dress rehearsal. Please remind them that they are not allowed to leave campus or order delivery on this day, as the staff will be working on notes with them during lunch. Our final performance will be held at 7:00PM. Please note that students will be asked to arrive early in order to prepare for their shows. This typically means between 6:30-6:45. We will have a better idea of the exact time early next week.
